View the Actual Costs Spread

The following steps assume you are using the Standard View Ribbon Menu option to view the data and the actual cost values are at the work package level. You may want to configure the standard view to hide or show the columns you want. For example, you may want to include the baseline, actual, or forecast start and end dates as columns in the view. For more information on how to configure and save a custom view, see Window Configuration.

  1. Select Home > Earned Value in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
  2. Select your project from the Project dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
  3. Expand the WBS hierarchy as needed to view the work packages.
  4. Select the work package row in the top pane.
  5. Select the Resources tab in the bottom pane. The left pane displays the Budget, Earned, Actuals, and Forecast tabs
  6. Select the Actuals tab. A list of the resources assigned to the work package displays in the left pane.

    Tip:

If the Actuals tab isn't active, actual costs for the work package haven't been imported yet. See Import Actual Costs or Import Data Using a Template.

  7. Select the resource row you want in the left pane of the Actuals tab.
  8. Select the Spreads tab in the right pane of the Actuals tab. A table of result rows and calendar month columns displays. The base result row and Total column are highlighted. The calendar month columns to the right of the Total column reflect the work package actual start date, previous reporting period, and the current reporting period or the work package actual end date.

    Tips:

The Total column and calendar month columns will be highlighted in red when a work package budget start date occurs before the previous reporting period end date. You cannot change the actual cost data for previous reporting periods.

When you are using estimated costs, these values are also listed in the left pane of the Actuals tab. The Cost Code column reflects the cost code name and description you have defined for the estimated costs. See Add Estimated Costs Cost Code.
